Crete is the largest island in Greece and the 5th largest in the Mediterranean. It is the place where the Minoan civilization was born and developed, and the history of the island dates back to the Neolithic Age. Some ports have booths at the port rather than agencies. Booths normally are open shortly before ferry departures (normally about an hour) but may be closed at other times. They are used mainly to print tickets for those companies that don't work with e-tickets or for customers that don't wish to use them.
