The goal of the company is for the passengers to feel that their holidays start at the embarkation.
During the summer season, when the tourist traffic increases, Grimaldi Lines connects the ports of Igoumenitsa, Corfu and Patras with those of Venice and Ancona on a daily basis.
I travelled igoumenitsa-ancona on the Venezia and I will never ever board Grimaldi lines again. The boat is disgustingly old and rusty. Bars have a strong stench to them, and anything that was once white has turned to a nicotine yellow. Seats were filthy, ripped, stained, tables were full of crumbs and sticky substances and the floors even had stumped cigarette butts. Decks are super small (this is more of a big ferry then a ship) and they are all terribly dirty from old filth. All clothes I travelled with will be thrown in the trash and my shoes are going to get disinfected the minute I get home. I booked a suite and although the sheets were clean, the bathrooms needed a lot of courage to confront. The shower curtain had mold, soap scum and pink colored water stains, the rim of the shower had what seemed to be rust and I tried my best not to touch walls in there. All in all I think this what container ships crossing oceans with illegal refugees on board would look like. On average a meal will cost you 17euros per person and I stopped eating it when I found dried food on my fork. I cannot understand how they ever pass health and safety checks. We travelled through a storm with waves 2m high, and the entire ship moved like a tornado hit us, not the ships fault for the bad weather, but Grimaldi should use bigger ships that won t wobble with just 2m waves. I have never been happier to disembark a ship then when we arrived in ancona (….3 hours late)
It was a nightmare! The boat stopped in the middle of the see (between Ancona to "Corfu" Igoumenitsa) for almost 5 hours, with no electricity for the toilet who over flooded after one hour, it's was crazy disgusting!!! The line at the restaurant took 45min for really bad quality... Over crowded with a group of 500 young Italians (summer camp) who installed a sound system on the deck until 2 in the night when the boat totally shut down...
No calm spaces, dirty and in really bad condition ! And finally they cancel our stop in Corfu as the boat was so late... We had to go at igoumenitsa and take an other boat to Corfu, unbelievable! No excuses from the captain... The crew tried their best, but with such bad conditions they cannot do nothing...I really really regret to have chose this company and will never again travel with them, as i also advise to anyone to avoid it hardly!
I traveled from Ancona to Igoumenitsa.
The ferry was extremely full (at least 300 passengers) and there were only public 10-15 toilets. In addition they were extremely dirty. The floor and all public places were extremely dirty as well, the temperature of the air conditioning was too low and it was very loud.
The queue for the self-service restaurant was very long. Moreover the food choice was low and the food quality very poor. The prices were too high. All in all I will not take this ferry anymore. I already canceled the return tickets.
I payed 500€ for a outside cabin for me, my partner and two dogs. I payed extra for the dogs and on the ticket it said we will get some goodies for the dogs, a blanket and stuff. Nothing. We booked a cabin with a double bet and got bunk beds. Really bad for such a high prize. Next time i will sleep in ma caravan.
Me and my famiy we travelled to Brindisi with Grimaldi Lines with our camper is the best way to travel to Brindisi the ferry was very big and comfortable the food was very nice and the cabins very clean
