The city center is easily reachable by public transport and features a range of tourist amenities, including hotels and restaurants, bars and cafes, supermarkets, various shops, banks, a post office, and pharmacies.

Getting to and from the port

By car

The port of Tunis is connected to the A4 and N8 highways to the north and the A1 highway to the south. Once in La Goulette, follow the signposting "Gare Maritime". The ferry terminal is 5 minutes away from the train station. Tunis - Carthage International Airport is located 12 km from the port.

By Bus

The port of Tunis - La Goulette is well served by public transport. If you want to go to the south of Tunisia, there are two bus stations, Bab El Fellah Station and Bab Alioua. For the north use the Bab Saadoun station.

By Train

La Goulette is the second stop after Tunis with the local train that runs along the coast to La Marsa. This is why the travel time between the two stations is so short (just 10 km). The national train service is called SNCFT. Tunis can be reached from cities such as Hammamet-Sousse, Bizerte, Tabarka and Dougga. You can also jump on one of the electric trains from La Goulette to downtown Tunis.

By Taxi

Taxis are available at the main port entrance. A taxi to Tunis will cost approximately 6 euros.

On Foot

Foot passengers can reach La Goulette on the TGM train.
